49th Over
The XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls have defeated the Commonwealth Bank Victorian Bushrangers by 26 runs, handing Victoria their first loss in the Ryobi Cup competition. Thanks for reading, and we'll do it again on Tuesday.
Queensland 8/305 - Cutting 98* (48), Khawaja 62 (80), Siddle 3/43 (10) defeated Victoria 279 - Quiney 59 (62), White 51 (69), Hastings 45 (31), Handscomb 45 (46), Feldman 5/57 (9). Points - QLD 4, VIC 0. Man of the Match - Cutting
That was a very good win in the end for the Bulls but it was largely due to Ben Cutting. He smashed 98 not out (48 balls) including most of the 70-odd in the last 5 overs. The Bulls bowled smartly and took their chances, with Feldman claiming 5 wickets.
Victoria made plenty of starts in that run chase but just when the batsmen started to take control they got out. White and Hussey looked set to control the chase but losing them in the space of 2 overs really hurt their chances. They did well to get close
S.Boland - lbw b:Neser 0 (1). FOW 10/279 (48.1), 10th wicket partnership (Holland/Boland) of 6 runs. J.Holland - 8* (4).
Over 48.1: Neser to Boland, no run, OUT, fires the ball in dead straight and Boland is hit right in front. Looks to be clipping leg stump and Boland is lbw first ball! Queensland have won by 26 runs!
48th Over
Over 47.6: Feldman to Holland, SIX, in the slot and Holland hasn't given up! He plays a wonderful lofted drive high over mid off. VIC 9/279 (Boland 0, Holland 8)
J.Hastings - c:Burns b:Feldman 45 (31). FOW 9/273 (47.5), 9th wicket partnership (Hastings/Holland) of 17 runs. The last batsman is Scott Boland.
Over 47.5: Feldman to Hastings, no run, OUT, big full toss as he swings hard at it. The ball has gone high in the air though and sliced to Burns at deep backward point. Feldman has his first ODD 5-wicket haul. Good pressure catch by Burns as well.
Over 47.4: Feldman to Holland, one run, drives straight to mid off for the single. Victoria need a boundary or two to finish this over.
Over 47.3: Feldman to Hastings, one run, attempted yorker is a low full toss but Hastings can only get a single to deep midwicket.
Over 47.2: Feldman to Holland, one run, leans forward and taps a single away to Cutting at long on.
Over 47.1: Feldman to Hastings, one run, steps across and works a drive down the ground to long on.
47th Over
Over 46.6: Neser to Holland, no run, steers the ball low but can't beat Khawaja at backward point - 37 off 18 to win. VIC 8/269 (Hastings 43, Holland 0)
Over 46.5: Neser to Hastings, one run, drags the ball from outside off stump to deep midwicket.
Over 46.4: Neser to Hastings, two runs, drives hard along the ground to deep wide long off and Gale needs to get on his bike to cut it off.
Over 46.3: Neser to Hastings, SIX, low full toss clubbed hard and long over long on for another maximum!
Over 46.2: Neser to Hastings, FOUR, swings hard outside off stump and gets a big edge flying down to the vacant third man boundary.
Over 46.1: Neser to Hastings, no run, slashes a drive straight to point.
