The Fire were about 20-30 runs short and never gained any real momentum in the contest. They fought hard but had no answers to some quality batting chasing a small target. Kirsten Pike was the best of the Queensland bowlers, while Kirby Short batted well.
The Spirit have continued their very strong Twenty20 season with a comprehensive victory at the Gabba this afternoon. Meg Lanning batted very well and found great support from Kelly Applebee. Earlier it was Molly Strano who was the star with the ball.
