Match Result: ACT Comets 417 (Spaseski 100, Rose 3/14) & 5/323d (Ayre 81, Muirhead 2/98) df. Victorian Second XI 209 (Taylor 55, Maher 4/47) & 335 (Rose 88*, B. Dean 4/40). ACT won by 196 runs. Points: ACT 6, VIC 0. Thanks for your company, so long!
But from there the Vics dug in and batted well, the pitch wasn't offering anything and for a fleeting moment looked like saving the match. Holland's wicket proved to be crucial and from there, it was a matter of time. Rose carried his bat the entire day.
It took until just after tea on the final day but the ACT Comets have travelled to Melbourne and left with all 6 points, their first win of the series. They started the day needing 7 wickets on a flat track and picked up two in two balls early in the day.

09:59 AET: Just about set. Michael Hill to take strike with the nightwatchman Clive Rose at the other end. Ben Oakley will run in from the Fitzroy Street End.
The umpires are just making their way to the change rooms now to call the players out for a match of cricket. A shake of the hand and they drop the ball for the fielding side to gather.
ACT have a 19:00 AET flight to catch so requested a 10:00 AET start. Not that it will matter, they only need 7 wickets for victory and one would expect them to achieve that well before the scheduled close of play at 17:00. Still, it is a very flat deck.
09:50 AET: Hello and welcome to final day coverage from the Junction Oval as the Victorian Second XI take on the ACT Comets in the 2012/13 Toyota Futures League. It's a pleasant morning here in Melbourne and we have an earlier start.
Stumps Day 3: ACT Comets 417 (Spaseski 100, Rose 3/14) & 5/323d (Ayre 81, Muirhead 2/98) vs Victorian Second XI 209 (Taylor 55, Maher 4/47) & 3/79 (Hill 29*, Oakley 2/12). Victorian Second XI trail by 452 runs. Play resumes tomorrow at 10:00 AET.
Oakley claimed two wickets, neither batsmen looked terribly impressed with the decisions, then Buchanan tried to sweep a ball from Blake Dean and top edged one to Higgs. That put the Comets in the drivers seat to claim the victory tomorrow. Join us then.
So with a day to play, the ACT Comets require 7 wickets for victory, claiming three Victorian scalps in the final session of play to have the home side 3/79 at stumps on day three.
