123rd Over
Western Australia Warriors defeated the XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls by 99 runs at the Gabba, with 15.2 overs to spare. Thanks for reading and we'll have every ball of the remainder of the domestic season covered here.
WA 111 (Gannon 4/49, Hopes 3/21) & 496 (Rogers 89, Marsh 84, Gale 4/109) defeated QLD 168 (Hogan 4/43, Coulter-Nile 3/41) & 340 (Moller 120, Hopes 61, Coulter-Nile 6/84, Agar 3/91) by 99 runs. Points - WA 6, QLD 2. MOTM - Coulter-Nile
Queensland claimed first innings points which ensures they remain top of the table. They were a bit off their game, especially with the ball in the second innings, and that eventually cost them. The batting of Moller in this match was the highlight.
The Warriors also continue their great form at the Gabba having won 7 of their last 10 Bupa Sheffield Shield matches here (the other three were drawn). Fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile and spinner Ashton Agar were both very impressive.
The batting from the middle and lower order set up this victory on a pitch that produced plenty of runs once the ball stopped swinging. They had enough in the bank to toil on the last day, hold their catches, and give coach Langer his first Shield win.
Western Australia have come away with a very impressive victory in this game. They were gone at Lunch on Day 2, three wickets down in the second innings with a lead of just 5 runs. But since then they have shown tremendous fight and skill to win the game.
C.Gannon - c:Rogers b:Hogan 27 (61 balls, 67 minutes). FOW 10/340 (122.4), 10th wicket partnership (Gannon/McDermott) of 45 runs (95 balls, 55 minutes). A.McDermott - 14* (44 balls, 55 minutes).
Over 122.4: Hogan to Gannon, no run, OUT, pushes forward to defend and gets a thick edge. Rogers in the gully dives low to his left to take a wonderful catch just above the ground!

Over 122.2: Hogan to Gannon, no run, stands tall at the crease and defends to Davis at point.
