55th Over
It is also the first time there has been a one run result over 1980 Sheffield Shield matches. On that remarkable note, thanks for joining us and good-bye for now.
The Southern Redbacks today have taken back the David Hookes Trophy to Adelaide Oval. A Fitting time to bring it back as well with today being the 9th anniversary of his funeral. What a game and it ended in the closest possible margin.
The word is Joe Minnie has been named Man of the Match.
You can't get them any closer than that. A fine 1 wicket win by the Redbacks.
There was thoughts this morning he would not even be able to bat but he did and he hit the winning runs.
What a great way for the Redbacks to win with Raphael hitting the winning runs. Was a very gutsy effort by Raphael even coming out on the ground to continue his innings after being taken to the hospital yesterday after being hit in the head by Pattinson.
Over 54.2: Boland to Raphael, FOUR, wide ball outside edge and Raphael makes a hero of himself cutting the ball, in the air, but wide of point to the fence.
Over 54.1: Boland to Raphael, no run, solid drive to mid on.
54th Over
Over 53.6: Hussey to Worrall, no run, APPEAL, looks to turn down leg and is rattled on the pads. Hussey goes up for the big appeal and long appeal. Going well down leg.. SA 9/187 (Raphael 23, Worrall 0)
Over 53.5: Hussey to Worrall, no run, quicker ball and kept out.
Over 53.4: Hussey to Worrall, no run, gets well over the top of that ball.
Over 53.3: Hussey to Worrall, no run, defends a yorker
Over 53.2: Hussey to Worrall, no run, tentively defends
Over 53.1: Hussey to Sayers, no run, OUT, big off spinner get through bat and pad. Well we are certainly have a ball game here. 2 runs to win, 1 wicket left.
53rd Over
Over 52.6: Boland to Raphael, no run, defends back to bowler. SA 8/187 (Raphael 23, Sayers 3)
Over 52.5: Boland to Raphael, no run, turns the ball just past square leg and they think not just once but two and three times whether to go for single or not.
Over 52.4: Boland to Sayers, three runs, guides this ball through gully for 3.
Over 52.3: Boland to Sayers, no run, defends back to bowler.
Over 52.2: Boland to Sayers, no run, defends down the wicket.
Over 52.1: Boland to Ludeman, no run, OUT, little wide and short outside off and as Ludeman looks to push on the off side he gets an edge to White at first slip. A very good match winning innings you would think.
