MATCH RESULT: West End Redbacks 1/192 (Hughes 95*, Klinger 72, Ferguson 18*, Hopes 1/20) df. XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls 189 (Khawaja 57, Burns 51, Ipson 33, Richardson 6/48, Botha 2/44) by 9 wickets. Points: SA 5, QLD 0. MOM: Kane Richardson (SA).
A fairly easy decision for man of the match despite Hughes' 95*, Kane Richardson with the third best ever figures for SA, 6-48 and a deserved man of the match winner. That's all from Adelaide. Thanks for joining us. Cheers!
It was a match of contrasts, the Redbacks bowlers got movement and plenty of spin and bounce while the Bulls bowling attack failed to get any real assistance for the pitch as the SA bats were rarely troubled.
With Callum Ferguson joining Hughes and the pair continuing on, all that was left was to see if Hughes could reach three figures. He fell five runs short, two runs short of his highest domestic one day score but secured the win for the West End Redbacks.
The win was set up with a 6 wicket haul from Kane Richardson, then Klinger and Hughes set about dismantling the XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls bowling attack with a fantastic opening stand of 138.
Big win for the West End Redbacks, they've won with 83 deliveries to spare and nine wickets in hand to pick up a bonus point win.
Over 36.1: Ipson to Hughes, SIX, tossed up outside off, down on one knee and hammers this one way back over the fence at wide long on, what a way to end it, Redbacks win easily!
36th Over
So the Redbacks need just 4 runs and will gain the bonus point, Hughes will fall short of a century.
Over 35.6: Feldman to Ferguson, no run, slower ball bouncer outside off and decides not to play at it. SA 1/186 (Hughes 89, Ferguson 18)
Over 35.5: Feldman to Ferguson, no run, length ball in the corridor outside off, a hint of shape away, left alone
Over 35.4: Feldman to Ferguson, no run, just back of a length on off, stands in his crease, defends it down on the leg side
Over 35.3: Feldman to Ferguson, no run, short ball bouncer, left alone outside off as he arches his back
Over 35.2: Feldman to Ferguson, FOUR, pitched up outside off, punches it on the front foot to short extra cover, a wicked bounce gets through the fielder and finds the rope!
Over 35.1: Feldman to Ferguson, FOUR, short and wide of off, all over it as he slaps it backward of point to the rope, just 8 needed now
35th Over
Over 34.6: Ipson to Hughes, no run, flicks it off his toes to mid wicket, can't penetrate the field, a dot to end the over. SA 1/178 (Hughes 89, Ferguson 10)
Over 34.5: Ipson to Hughes, no run, sharp turn and bounce as he is forward, then back, misses the cut shot
Over 34.4: Ipson to Hughes, no run, gently turns this one off his pads to forward square, Ferguson takes off, sent back
Over 34.3: Ipson to Ferguson, one run, tossed up wide of off, back away and square drives it through the covers to the sweeper
