21st Over
So that is it from here, thanks for joining the coverage for the five days and we look forward to bringing you all the live of the 4th Test from Chester-Le-Street on Friday.
Michael Clarke has been named as the Man of the Match is what was an outstanding effort by him. He will be proud of the effort of his team and hoping that his side can maintain that level for the rest of the series.
Full congratulations to the England lads for retaining the Ashes, even though there would be a little deflation with the rain intervening.
So at 4.39pm local time play was abandoned and with England still 2-nil up, the Ashes will stay in England.

So at 4.30pm it feel as though it is only a matter of time before this gets called off. That will mean England retain the Ashes, which they have held since 2009. More news soon

There was a message to suggest there would be an inspection at 2.45pm, but the rain is back at 2.40pm and the covers (and umpires) will be staying put it seems
It is really hammering down now - full covers on very quickly, it shall be a decent delay
That's decent rain falling - covers on quickly, great work by the groundstaff here. They've done a top job today. More news when we get it
Bell might be in some trouble here - a nasty one on the thumb. The rain has returned sadly for Australia - Bell and England get some luck once again
