20th Over
MATCH RESULT: Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars 7/129 (Healy 30, Perry 24*, Doolan 3/21, Mackay 2/18) df New Zealand White Ferns 7/109 (Mackay 21*, Perkins 18 Hunter 2/15, Osborne 2/19) by 20 runs. POM: Ellyse Perry (AUS). POS: Lisa Sthalekar (AUS).
Thanks for your company throughout, stay tuned for the Second Men's Twenty20 International between Australia and India in around 2.5 hours from now. Cheers!
And the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars pose with the Rose Bowl, having won both the T20 and ODI series'.
Ellyse Perry has been named Player of the Match for her 24*, a wicket and a catch. Lisa Sthalekar named Player of the Series for some outstanding performances throughout the five matches, particularly earlier in the series.
Some tight bowling, giving the batters little room to swing freely, combined with some good fielding kept the run rate down and it became too much to manage.
The White Ferns could never manage to keep up with the required run rate, despite having wickets in hand throughout.
And so the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars have finished the series with a win, making it a 4-1 series result overall, fairly comprehensive in the finish although the series was tight throughout.
