Western Fury defeated the Konica Minolta Queensland Fire by 9 wickets. These two sides meet in another Twenty20 game tomorrow at 9:30am. Thanks for reading, see you again tomorrow.
Western Fury 1/106 - Kasperek 50*(92), Bolton 46*(66), Barsby 1/13(4) defeated Queensland Fire 105 - King 3/10(9.4), Triscari 2/17(6), Chappell 2/20(10). Points - WA 5, QLD 0
Fury wicketkeeper Jenny Wallace became the first player to take 6 dismissals in a single WNCL innings. She now holds the record alone, beating 5 dismissals by Julia Price, Leonie Coleman (twice) and Alicia Dean.
Then despite losing an early wicket, Nicole Bolton and Leigh Kasperek batted very well to steer their side to victory. A very good team performance today.
Emma King was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/10 while the opener Gemma Triscari took two vital early wickets.
A great victory for the Western Fury today, their first one in the WNCL competition this season. They dominated all aspects of the match to make light work of the small run chase.
