65th Over
The XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls defeated the SA West End Redbacks by an innings and 91 runs to qualify for the Bupa Sheffield Shield Final. They are in the mix to host it, pending the remaining results this weekend. Thanks for reading, goodbye for now.
XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls 356 (Burns 130, Hartley 68, Putland 6/72) def. SA West End Redbacks 162 (Hopes 3/28, Harris 3/29) & 103 (Cooper 49, McDermott 4/35, Hopes 2/9), Points - QLD 6, SA 0. MOTM - Joe Burns
The victory was also largely on the back of a wonderful 130 by Joe Burns yesterday. His innings, plus some strong support, helped build the lead before the bowlers finished the job they started on Day 1.
Today was about patience and forcing mistakes - two things the Bulls did very well. Alister McDermott took 4 wickets but everyone bowled really well. it's their first Shield points since Christmas, but is enough to make the Final.
That's an emphatic victory for the XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls, dominating the South Australians to hand them a thrashing inside three days. The Bulls are in to the 2011/12 Bupa Sheffield Shield Final next week.

Over 64.2: McDermott to Richardson, one run, DROPPED, gloves a hook shot in the air and a leaping Hartley just can't hold a very hard chance!
That tope edge flew really high in the air but it didn't travel far. Hartley skipped across to his left and took it very safely.
