MATCH RESULT: Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers 5/317 (Wade 120, Hodge 78, Edmondson 3/87, Hogan 2/51) df. Retravision Warriors 9/258 (Robinson 66, Beaton 54, Pattinson 3/31, Maxwell 2/38) by 59 runs. Points: VIC 4, WA 0. MOM: Matthew Wade.
That's all we have for you here at the MCG this afternoon/evening. We look forward to your company next time. Bye for now!
In the end it didn't cost them as the Warriors ran out of wickets, Voges giving it a go but unable to continue beyond a couple of balls. Matthew Wade the deserved man of the match for his brilliant century to set up the huge total for the Bushrangers.
Michael Hogan kept the game interesting with some free swinging in the latter overs and the Bushrangers did themselves no favours by dropping several easy chances.
The run chase was going well until Birt and Ronchi fell in quick succession, it recovered somewhat but with both North and Voges out of action, it was always going to be a tough task.
So a comprehensive win to the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers by 59 runs here at the MCG, aided by the ineffectiveness of Adam Voges with the bat, suffering from a groin strain, and from the absence of Marcus North, we believe with back spasms.
And that is that! Adam Voges cannot go on anymore, he gave it a go, and with Marcus North not batting due to back spasms, the Bushrangers have won this game by 59 runs.
