So Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in this two match series, wiith Matthew Wade being named Man of the Match for his 72 runs at the top of the order for the Aussies. Join us on Friday for Game Two. Bye for now!
He got going in the latter overs but by then it was too late as the run rate ballooned to well over 10 runs per over and eventually became too much. He added 59 runs with Ravichandran Ashwin for sixth wicket but it was never enough.
They lost 5/36 in 8 overs to slump to 6/81 and effectively bat themselves out of the game. Mahendra Singh Dhoni did his best to carry his team home but he struggled early.
The run chase got of to a solid start despite losing Virender Sehwag in the first over. But the fall of Gautam Gambhir started a rot.
A comfortable win for Australia in the finish. They set the win up with a steady stream of wickets to cruise home.
